Hello All! We hope that everyone has had a wonderful season- we have been working like madmen recently with the addition of our new fly shop... However, in true Due South fashion, we have found plenty of time to get out and do a lot of fishing lately! Here's the scoop on whats going on as of recently-
Local fishing- has been strong, we just received over 6 inches of rain the past three days so we are waiting for the streams to drop out a bit, but all in all the fishing has been fantastic. The Delayed Harvest bite has been wonderful, restocking happens the first week of May which will make for some phenomenal fishing... Our wild fisheries are really heating up as well, we are seeing solid amounts of caddis flies, mayflies and stoneflies around.
Tailwaters- Both the Watauga and South Holston have been fishing well. The Watauga's famous caddis hatch is in full swing and is providing some solid dry fly fishing, lots of bugs around. The South Holston has been fishing well via wading. There has been a good deal of both sulphurs and small black caddis flies around on the South Holston- also never forget the solid midge fishing as well!
